About Kentucky State Parks Foundation

Connecting people to nature through our state parks

The state of Kentucky has one of the largest state parks systems in the country. Our 49 state parks each offer their own unique spin on nature and what it has to offer. Our mission as a non-profit organization is to connect people to the outdoors, immerse them in our rich history and culture, and to ultimately help them experience our beautiful state and all it has to offer. SEE THEM

It’s important to note that we are not funded by the state, but we are driven by the passion of some amazing volunteers who love our state parks system. We hope to pass that on through generations of children and families by helping them experience the parks. Our board of directors is made up of a diverse group of individuals from across the state, who are all working towards the same goal. MEET THEM

To meet our goal of getting people to the parks, we put out donor dollars to work in the form of grants. We have created multiple programs, like the Inside Out Program that provides transportation (bussing) to school-age children that otherwise wouldn’t be able to make it to our parks. We believe that if we’re able to inspire a learning atmosphere, get kids out into nature and ultimately have them fall in love with our parks, they’ll come back again…and next time with their family, or friends. While our message is simple, our mission is not. It takes a collective whole to keep people interested, engaged and coming back to our parks that we love so much. We hope you share our mission and visit the parks as often as you can. They’re here for everyone to enjoy. DONATE
